Market research may not seem an obvious choice with her specialist science background, but Marianna explains:

“I had dreams of finding the ultimate cure for cancer but realised that spending my life in a lab was not for me. I loved research but not the isolation. I’m a people person as well as a scientist and see Opticom as the perfect place to combine my technical expertise with my communication skills.

It’s like one big multi-lingual, multi-cultural family here but I’m the only Greek! I’m so looking forward to mentoring and supporting our consultants, conducting pilot interviews and checking transcripts among other duties, ensuring we produce the most accurate, qualitative data that we can. My focus will likely be more on the healthcare side of the business, at least initially, but I am getting to know the forest industry. It’s already clear how important sustainability is for pulp and paper producers and the work that needs to be done in communicating the industry’s sustainability credentials more effectively. It’s an exciting time to be joining Opticom when the forest products industry so clearly has a vital role to play in the transition to a more circular economy and I can’t wait to meet our clients.”
